Cold Weather Party Ideas in Las Vegas

Fall and winter parties in Las Vegas can be a lot of fun, but the weather can change fast. Cooler temps, wind, and an early sunset can affect your plans. The good news is you can still host an amazing event with a few smart choices.

Here are simple cold weather party ideas to help you plan a smooth, fun day with bounce houses, obstacle courses, water combos, and party rentals from Kangaroo Bounce Party.

1. Plan for Daylight First

The sun goes down earlier in fall and winter. So if you want outdoor fun, schedule the party earlier.

Tip: Aim for late morning or early afternoon so kids can play while it’s warmer and brighter.

2. Choose Sunny Setup Spots

If you’re hosting outdoors, pick a location that gets good sun exposure.

Good choices include:

• Open backyards
• Parks with wide, sunny fields
• Driveways or side yards with clear space

Tip: Avoid shaded corners and spots blocked by tall walls or trees.

3. Keep Wind in Mind

Wind is the biggest weather risk for inflatables. Even if the temperature feels fine, gusts can make a bounce house unsafe.

Tip: Ask your rental company about their wind policy and pause use if gusts pick up. Safety always comes first.

4. Consider an Indoor Party for Stress-Free Fun

Indoor parties remove weather problems completely. If wind or rain is in the forecast, indoor is often the best option.

Great indoor locations:

• Community centers
• Banquet halls
• Gyms
• YMCA-style facilities

Tip: Measure ceiling height before booking. Many inflatables need strong overhead clearance.

5. Use a Garage for Small Indoor Parties

If you have an empty garage, you can create a simple indoor party setup. Even if you don’t use a full inflatable, you can still create a fun carnival-style party.

Try adding:

• Classic games
• A concession machine like popcorn or cotton candy
• Tables and chairs for a warm snack area

6. Want a Big Obstacle Course or Slide? Rent a Larger Indoor Space

If you want a dual lane slide or a long obstacle course, you need more space. A large hall or gym can be the perfect solution.

Why it works: Kids stay active and warm inside, and you avoid rain and wind completely.

7. Add Patio Heaters and Warm Zones Outdoors

If you stay outside, heaters can help adults stay comfortable while kids play.

Simple ideas:

• Outdoor patio heaters near seating
• A warm drink table for parents
• Blankets or jackets in a nearby bin

Kids usually stay warm from bouncing, but adults appreciate a warm spot.

8. Avoid Late Night Parties

Once the sun goes down, temperatures drop quickly. Kids also get tired and start heading indoors.

Tip: If you want evening fun, keep it early and offer warm snacks and drinks.
